Bea Alonzo joins the star-studded cast of the upcoming movie '1521: The Battle of Mactan'

American director and actor Michael Copon is here in the Philippines and just started working with producer Francis B. Lara Ho and the other cast for the film '1521: The Battle of Mactan.' Shooting will be done in Puerto Princesa City and Taytay, Palawan.
Just today, August 4, the team for the said movie held a press conference with the cast and the people behind it including actors Hector David Jr., Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo,Maricel Laxa, and Hollywood actor Danny Trejo.
During the media conference, Palaweño producer Francis Lara Ho gives his statement about their objective for making this film.
He said, “Our team's desire is to make a great movie that will make the Filipino proud, that will make God pleased, and that will make our family proud and will impact people with goodness and greatness of the Filipino people, but this is not only about Filipinos because we have Magellan and other characters… This is a global story.”
Aside from her lead role for the upcoming GMA drama series Start-Up Ph, Bea is set to portray the character of a woman named Diwata, in the film '1521: The Battle of Mactan.'
Just recently, the award-winning actress gained praise from Francis, “Amazing loyalty for all you Bea's fans! She delivered a world-class act yesterday at the set and yet she's so humble. Enjoyed the honor of being with her on and off the camera.”
